It’s a weta, it’s only found on one island off of New Zealand after rats killed all the weta on the mainland.

Yes that is a Weta and we have them everywhere in NZ, not just one tiny island. I mean they’re not in the cities all up in your business, but go for a walk in the bush and you will see tons of them. Harmless as a fluffy bunny.
