Well known author Christopher Hitchens agreed to be waterboarded by the U.S Military in an effort to see if it constituted as torture or not. Waterboarding is used in interrogation and is effective because it simulates drowning and forces a gag reflex on the victim. It involves having layers of towel placed over the head, and the entire body restrained. The towel is held down firmly and water poured over it, which seeps through and enters the nasal passages of the victim.

I can describe what that is probably like.. You are breathing as you normally would except under a cloth. Breathing.. breathing.. breathing.. you notice them pouring water… but you can still continue breathing.. breathi! fuck i cant breath.. im gonna die… im drowning… cant breathe… ahh fuck.. it was so shockingly sudden.. fuck! I am pretty sure that that shit sucked a lot.
Another note: they were most likely a lot nice to this guy than other innocent and non innocent victims.

I think you guys are really missing the point…Hitchens had seen plenty of video of people being waterboarded and then wrote an article about how it’s not torture. He was then waterboarded himself and decided it was torture. I would recommend that the people here have the same kind of experience before making idiotic judgments on things they don’t understand. And Oh Yeah!, just to let you know, Hitchens has been around the world and has been placed in many compromising situations where his life has been on the line. I wouldn’t be too quick to judge his balls. I could make an easily similar judgment against you…that you hide behind your computer with no life experience and choose to judge people you don’t know.
