There’s no sensor on the side because most accidents occur like the demonstration with the hot dog. There really doesn’t need to be a sensor on the side.

He stuck his finger in really slowly. It’s fine, but usually when the accidents occur, the finger doesn’t slowly inch its way in. Usually the finger goes in much faster, so I’m going to have to take it with a grain of salt.
Unless I am mistaken, there doesn’t need to be a side sensor, as the whole blade is acting as the sensor.
Also, Jerry, at 5000-ish RPM, putting your finger into the blade real slow would make too much of a difference.
I saw a live demo of this saw. They used a hotdog like in the vid above. They put it into the blade with a peice of wook at normal work speed. Had it been a finer, there would have been a surface abbrasion type cut, but nowhere near the muscle and certain not to bone.

The blade does stop but in terms of revolutions,and actual teeth making contact….anyone notice that the blade dropped below the table quicker then it stops turning? What wud happen if the depth adjustment was faulty? or even if the person wasn’t grounded?

I believe that a lot of accidents occur when you have your hand on a piece of wood. Would that thing notice if there are two materials at the same time?
Mathias.. If you put a 230 VAC non insulated cable on wood and touch both of them at the same time nothing would happend
