The police are supposed to ’serve’ the law… not place themselves above it.
Stone73 what do you mean “place themselves above it”. Police have more rights than citizens, that’s a fact and it’s the only way Police can do their job. They can arrest people, citizens cannot. They can shoot at people with firearms, citizens cannot. They can drive past red lights, citizens cannot. They sure can hell ram a bike of a robber to stop him, and citizens cannot.
Obvious reasons why.
J… you are in error. The police do not have any more rights than citizens do. Citizens can arrest people just as well as the police can. If I’m licensed to carry a firearm, and somebody shoots at me, you can rest well assured that I’ll be firing back, and I’m no cop.
In emergency situations they can drive through red lights, yes. But so can citizens. Plus… I’ve seen cops numerous times just tossing on their lights to go through a red light, only to turn them off again once their past the intersection and slowing continuing on their way. Obviously thinking themselves above the law.
