They are magnificent mimicker of other birds and noises. Often in the morning you may think you are surrounded by a multitude of bird species, to find out you have been fooled by a lyrebird. Car noises, chainsaws, dogs and other noises are no problem for this excellent imitator. So you also have failed in life!

they do it, where we go camping there are a lot of them. The imitate everything from sirens, car noises to people laughing and whistling. It’s a bit weird walking through the bush and what you think is a deer calling is actually a lyre bird that flies out and runs off *bastard*
