   Yeah…this isn’t even remotely ice. It’s fucking cool, but it’s a commonly-mentioned reaction when talking about saturation of solution. Boiling and cooling the solution produces a supersaturated solution, and touching it creates a nucleation point, causes all of the excess CH3COONa to come out of solution and crystallize really fast around that point.
