they were arresting a bunch of guys who robbed a bank and killed two people, but they got the car wrong, cause there were two black Porsche Cayennes with number plate 177 on that road…

Apparently they were trying to bust a gang of bank robbers who had shot and killed one employee and critically injured another (who may end up dying from the injuries).
They had a spotter at the previous intersection who incorrectly ID’d the first car, then they spotted the second car which was the right one.
The story says that the Russian police did pay for the repairs to the first car, but you know how that goes.
Anyway, I bet you won’t see idiots in the street protesting “police brutality.” They seriously fucked up with their identification technique, but the way they went about the takedown of these armed, violent criminals is commendable.
its not that the spotter ID’d the car wrong, its that there were two identical cars in that little space of road, same numbers on the number plates to 177 on both and they didn’t have time to read the letters
so the first guys are basically unlucky to PERFECTLY match the description of the other car
the U.S. has this too. it’s called a S.W.A.T. team.

The cops get wrong ‘T 177 AA’ while chasing for ‘P 177 EM’, so they wanted quickly to take the first car out of the road to continue with the operation.
