Imagine productivity in a warehouse or sorting facility dealing with heavy products. Or firefighters able to lift wreckage and pull apart metal structures in order to help save trapped passengers from automobile accidents, or tear apart walls to save people from a burning building. This kind of suit could become invaluable in many situations, I for one hope they continue to develop it for the civilian market.

I want one!!!
time for Iran, baby!
great idea, i cant wait for the future!
haloooooooooo!!!!!!!!
very cool! I wonder how much they would run for though…
it’d be pretty expensive, especially to maintain the circuitry, and the power thats required to operate the thing would be enormous, but if you have enough cash on hand: this thing is your new toy in a few years.
a gundam in the making
I’d feel uncomfortable with one of those with AI. Think I, Robot (the movie)
shit, scary stuff to think that this is already happening. Scarier to think of my kids having to deal directly with this. Regardles if it is good or bad.
try to have sex with that thing
ROBOT REVOLUTION ALL HAIL THE ROBOT OVERLORDS…i want to be on the good side of the overlords when they take over the world
Just think of the other possibilities this has as well.
Eventually they may be able to make a scaled down version (one that doesn’t have all of the lifting capabilities, but still provides the fatigue reduction from constant movement) that could be used to control a computer or remote controlled fighter jet.
Amazing.
I don’t think I need an exoskeleton just to control a computer…
Think of how much money they’ve spent developing this thing. This is ridiculous ; it’s totally useless. Who cares about loading ammo onto planes or trucks? There are are much more efficient ways to do this anyways. This is just some scientist’s jerkoff project; this invention has practically no use at this stage and even in the future will be impractical for use in combat. In the meantime, we have soldiers dying in foreign countries. Wouldn’t the money have been better spent on some more efficient body armor or something else that might actually help our troops?
Think of how could a body armor be improved if you don’t need to be restricted by its weigth
updates!!!
Definately has some possibilities. How fast can they run? How much armor and weaponry could you put on it, and then How much does it cost per unit?????
Soon they will think for themselves…
Hey Anon 14. This was an independant company called Sarcos, not the DOD. Tech like this will one day save lives, and make dangerous jobs less dangerous.
i got one for an early christmas present from my uncle and a case of viagra from my dad and the rest is simple…
……i am legend…………….

They guy who said this is a complete idiot..No good uses, are you kidding me?
Soldiers are dieng you say? What happens when you allow soldiers to run for huge amounts of time with tank armour on their body? A building is collapsed and there is a heavy peice of metal trapping them. You get a person wearing one of these to lift off the rubble. A highway pile up(happens EVERYDAY) a person is trapped in their car and there is another car blocking their rescue. Someone with one of these suits just picks up the other car and tosses it aside, person saved.
You say “it’s totally useless” and that makes you a fool. It has unlimited uses and if you cant see that thats bad
I’ve been working on a design for the past decade and if you say they are useless you’re full of shit.
Construction applications, medical applications, rescue operations, etc. Once they get the design down they will start “scaling” it down to be more compact and flexible while still allowing for extensive lifting power. Imagine if you will, a soldier in a suit like this laden with armor and a minigun carried in ONE HAND and the ammo box in a backpack. You don’t think it has it’s uses?! You’d be protected like a tank and have far more firepower that can go into many more places.
That’s not including the potential to make replacement limbs for wounded or deformed people and further augmenting those who still have theirs.
Pay respect to a person following their dreams of improving and protecting others.
