A Texas couple, who were pulled over for speeding while rushing their choking dog to an emergency vet clinic, said their pet died after officers held them for 15 minutes. The incident was caught-on-tape. I am not sure how I feel about this one… Yes the cop was being a dick but a dying dog does not justify putting the lives of other humans at risk. What do you think?

The cop was doing his job by pulling the guy over. After finding out that the dog is dying the cop should of helped the guy get the animal to the vet… then taken action against him if he felt it was necessary.

It boils down to what it means to help a fellow human being in distress. He failed.

This is a tough one. I can understand the guy trying to save his dogs life (I lost my dog a year ago), but driving a choking dog to the vet 10 minutes away is not my idea of a way to save him. If dog was choking i’d call the vet and ask how i could get it out. Very sad though. A dogs life should be just as important as another persons.

Everybody please calm down over my tragic but necessary death. Let me explain the events leading up to the video you just watched.
Earlier that morning I was minding my own business licking my nuts and thinking of my owners girlfriend naked in the shower. When all of a sudden my owner put a rag over my face and I blacked out. When I awoke I was surprised to find my paws tied to his bed posts. To add to my humiliation I’d been dressed in a cheerleader outfit with a blonde pig tailed wig. I didn’t know where my owner could be. As I franticly looked around the bed for something to defend or free myself with the bathroom door swung open. Now if it had stopped there I might have been able to let things slide because we both would have gotten something out of this situation. That’s when I decided I had to end my life. I drank a bottle of Crown that was laying around and downed a bottle Viagra and Tylenol. When my owner found me laying motionless on the bathroom floor he went into panic mode. He and his girlfriend scooped me up and put me in his blazer.

Don’t get me wrong, I have a kitten myself, and she is one of the most important thing to me I have. I would absolutely crushed if she were to die. But at the same time, I would NEVER risk putting other people in danger. If if were to have killed anyone while speeding to get her to a vet, I personally would never be able to live with myself. Unless, of course, I was driving through the middle of the country where buildings of any sort are few and far in between and there were minimal cars. But still, I wouldn’t risk killing MYSELF or the other passengers just to save her. I firmly believe that pets are extremely important and their lives aren’t worthless, but at the same time, they are not AS important as a human life.
It would have been awful if he had crashed into a car full of people, but he didn’t and in all likelihood wouldn’t have. Every damn one of us has travelled at excessive speed for no good reason and we’re all still here to tell about it. What would have made for a better video would have been watching him plow through a crowd full of negroes, jumping out and successfully performing the Heimlich maneuver on his dog, then giving the cop a high five with one hand while using the other to accurately aim his urine stream to be sure not to miss a single schmoog.
