If it is dead, then it isn’t “torcher”. And yes, those are probably just nerves firing after it is dead. If you’ve ever seen a snake after it is dead you will see the effect. It can move without a head for a few minutes or so.
What? Couple things wrong with your comment. First, you don’t have the hook in for your pleasure, you use it to catch the fish, not to enjoy the pain it must be feeling. Second, yeah its ok to eat the damn fish, but damn don’t leave the top half of it alive and cook the bottom. Chopping the head off is a pretty humane way of doing it. Deep frying the bottom and keeping it alive isn’t.

I hate it the most when a fish swallows a hook, where removing the hook can be lethal. When fishing, you do one of two things, out of respect for life in general: a) kill it swiftly, or b) release it with as little stress to the fish as humanly possible. Okay, I’m Chinese-American and this is sick - both the fish preparation & racist nonsense. The half cooked fish is not any worse than cutting the beaks off baby chicks because they will peck each other to death from the stress of crowded, cruel conditions in many commercial poultry operations. (Or kicking & throwing the grown birds around.) And who knows what goes on with larger livestock…I’m sure Dateline has some videos or something of equally disgusting, homegrown USA animal cruelty.
