The japanese always pull some zomg stunts…im amazed!
Talk about tripping balls.
That was extremely trippy and I wouldn’t be surprised if they made one of these to be capable of playing a normal video some how. And I actually always have had an idea of doing something similar to this but wasn’t quite sure how to do it. It’s all pretty simple to do, come to think of it, just it has never been thought of being made because it’s so useless. Screw finding a cure for cancer, lets donate money into making a water droplet advertisement machine.
That was really cool, but it made me have to pee.
I believe that was first invented by Koreans. I remember seeing a clip like this an year ago.
I’ve seen this before, only it was 20 dudes pissing off the side of a cliff. I especially liked how they repeated all the words for the dyslexic viewers.
holy shit that was awesome:O some primo vids on the site today
now use this technology with bullets to make a design on the planes we shoot down
How funny. When i fast-forwarded to “canal city” i cot in after the c. It said Anal City. What a pleasant afternoon.
Actually, this is an American invention… Jeep uses it every year at the auto shows to impress their crowd, and one of their engineers came up with this.
i agree with atom, back in a sec
anyone know where this is?
The camera was shaking so bad at the end cause the guy had to really really go pee…

That’s chinese.
This is a fountain from Canal City in Fukuoka, Japan. About every two months they change the fountains there. When I left university there it was synced to a fantasia song. It says the following in Japanese: Welcome-Canal-City-Hakata (district in Fukuoka).
There’s an identical one in Raffles City, Singapore. There’s another awesome fountain I saw there in 2003 and 2005. Look up Raffles City Fountain on YouTube.
Awesome fountain!
NOOOOO, it´s neither japanese nor american - it´s an german invention by Julius Popp and it´s called “bit.fall”.
haha I saw that thing in person as well, at Canal City Mall in Fukuoka Japan.
Jesus FUCKING GOD, im sick of this fucking fountain!!!!!
i disagfre on princalpal this is animal cruelty and where arer the human ritghts???

Whoa!! That was wicked awesome!
This is the neatest “fountain” I have EVER seen! I want one for my house! I could sit and watch this for hours, I’m sure! Wow…Awesome!
Kimberly

Actually it’s a Taiwanese invention, if you look closely it even says so in the frame.
Take one giant step!
this is not an american evention anon..
no the words were not repeated for dyslexic people, they were repeated so that the people standing on both sides of the water fall could read it.
Its made by Julius Popp and exists already a couple of years making a tour around the world as it seems (it has been also in moma nyc already).

No! Its an Albanian invention! The crown prince of Albania told me over a pint yesterday.
There’s a few fountains like this at the Liquidity lounge inside the Luxor in Las Vegas. They add color-changing lights to the mix too, it’s pretty sweet.
LMAO
Dave… Good one!
Whoever created it is obviously pretty smart, and it looks fantastic so let’s leave it at that. =)
Duh… it IS japanese.
If it wasn’t why would it have japanese writing through it…
*rolls eyes*
pfft albanian..
this is way cool!
Cool! =]
what were these guys smoking?
this was developed by a professor in milwaukee… a remarkably not-japanese guy.
Photoshopped
We have something like that down at our science museum, but it’s not quite so elaborate.
I INVENTED IT!!!

aactually, although this video is from a japanese display, it’s a british invention
This was invented by an American.
It’s not Japanese. It was developed by a German artist. I forget his name but he’s on youtube. check him out. apparently this thing is computer controlled and the computer has an internet connection and a simple program that gets random words from RSS news feeds and turns them into these water typographs.

why bother who invented this?!!
THAT WAS AWESOME - AND VERY CREATIVE - I LIKED IT ALOT!!
The Jeep exhibit at the Auto Show in Detroit has had a fountain like this for the last 4 years.
this is awesome
Nice creation! Humans using their God given minds in a positive way. The results are beautiful! It’s another reason to praise Jesus Christ who gave us the ability to enjoy life, and enjoy it more abundantly!
I guess anyone who can invent Godzilla and those other monsters can do anything!
This is not new and not Jap/Chinese. American car companies (Chyrsler / Jeep) have been using this for years at car shows / events. Jesus is dead and so is your pathetic religion. The power of science and knowledge is all we need!!
Hey, that is so cool! How can i make one myself? If anyone has any info on this please e-mail me at. Derek.memail@gmail.com
Thanks!

It’s not a Japanese, American or German invention.
The idea of a graphical fountain was first proposed by Jacob Eros, a British engineer living in Paris between the first and second world wars; he thought it would be a good way of animating porn.
The first working example was made by the Italian branch of BMW, in the late 50s. It was used to advertise the nutritional content of marrows, during the spaghetti famine of ‘62.
I read it on Wikipedia, it must be true.
