this is horrible. Next time, even if someone is really committing suicide, they’ll think it’s a joke. Also, the telemarketer did the right thing by telling him he’d send the papers the next day-get him to hold on another day and usually they change their minds

Yeah, the telemarketer sounded nice - then when Tom asks about financing, he says, “well now, you were just talking about killing yourself, do you have a credit card or something?” Yeah, I’m concerned about you up to the point where I get your money.
