Two things: It does sound strangely like Shakespeare…And: MP and the HG did sort of do this with Japanese, but I think they made it up–not using BabelFish or anything, more like a parody of infamous ‘Engrish,’ than actual ‘Engrish.’
Oh and, what’s the point of this? To illustrate how bad Babel Fish is at multiple translations? No shit guys…Or is it to point out that sometimes bad translations create an almost genius level (like Shakespeare, right?) form of poetry that isn’t captured in our usually employment of language? Because that is much more interesting.

This is not actually so terribly bad. It’s mostly intelligible, which I think is all these translation services aim for. I would have expected something far more garbled.
Loved it! Let’s see. How many times has the Bible been translated from one language to another - and re-versioned in each of those? And how long was it before the New Testament was written down after Jesus spoke? Maybe the inspiration is in the message and not the particular words!
Let’s talk about how this is a fine example of why I cannot learn a second language. Sentence structure… That’s what gets me.

Modern bibles are translated directly from the more ancient hebrew texts so languages translated into =1. Not only that but the people who translate are intelligent.
You may find this hard to believe but theologian linguists don’t use Babelfish.
Not only that but those texts were actually written by the disciples and passed through the church only not collected together and the originals didn’t survive.

Good (half-)point. They aren’t all in Hebrew. Some are Greek. All were written long after Jesus. And they all seem quite different on key points. So the motivations of the scholars (and the early church who apparently destroyed some accounts they didn’t like) must also be taken into account = the number of bible versions issued to date plus several never issued.
I love how they said all that with a totally straight face! Must’ve been a lot of fun to make.
