“Family Guy is having a lot of fun with their historic Emmy nomination. First, the cast did a live table read of their controversial abortion episode for the TV Academy. Now they’re launching a series of six online videos mocking other comedies nominated in their category. Producers aren’t exactly lobbying to win here, they’re basically grabbing the nomination and running as far with it as they can. The first video is about fellow nominee “The Office” and is titled Where’s My Emmy?”

Oh yes, because the Office appeals to such a sophisticated audience, once that consists of one man in particular substituting numbers (4) for words (for) and (possibly? I like both The Office and Family Guy. They are two different types of humor, like comparing apples and oranges. I can appreciate what The Office does when it makes fun of the daily office life of an average American, and I can appreciate the exaggerated, banal comedy of Family Guy as it mocks the American family and its obsession with pop culture.
