no, i think it’s from the opera “William Tell” by gioacchino rossini (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Tell_%28opera%29).
anyway: those are awesome musicians! lol
I think the band is called Bebeto, I remember picking up a CD of theirs when I was in London. Although at the time they were a quartet. Being a Cellist myself I thought they were awesome.
Being a musician and singer myself, I have always been annoyed at people talking in the phone or just phones beeping during concerts… Now I know what to do next time that happens! *evil grin at the thought of going off stage singing some high range aria like “Queen of the Night” while standing next to the offending person glaring at him/ her* Lovely. And - well played! =)
That should totally be standard protocol for dealing with assholes on their cell phones during live performances like this. These people are my new heroes.
Actually, that seems to be a mix of bands. There is a band who always plays in Covent Garden named Oopsie Mamushka. The women are from that band I believe. I own their CD.
God forbid it was an emergency call. Why does everybody hate on cell phone users? I’m just bothered by the ones who use bluetooth headsets. Some walk around looking like they’re talking to themselves. Strange.
Really Nick…an emergency? If there was an emergency, I would hope the guy would be on his feet and heading out the door. There is no excuse for staying in the room while on the phone!
Well if it is that important then he should have moved his sorry ass outside instead of sitting there like a jackass. People seem to have this misconception that they are more important than anything and everything else going on around them. I’m tired of people trying to defend lazy ass cell phone users.
Our society has become disgustingly rude. My parents would have smacked the back of my head if I talked during a performance, now if you have a cell it’s common to just answer it no matter where you are or what you are doing. I think these musicians are fantastic.
Spok, it’s people like you that ruin the internet… Keep to yourself and leave the internet as intact as possible… Thanks buddy…
SO! For the clip, that was pretty funny… I’ve always wanted to do that when I’m in a performance, but, meh, oh well… As for answering your cell phone wherever you’re at, I highly disagree… A majority of the people I observe leave an area for any, and more, of the following reasons:
A) The environment around them is crowded
B) They are in a professional environment (e.g. office or performance)
C) They are in the middle of something of greater importance
Obviously there are more reasons, but those tend to be the top few… So really, it’s not all that common to just answer your phone (oh the beauty of voice-mail).
Nice one, I can’t believe how rude some people get with cell phones, I saw a girl shrieking at her mate in front of the library at my community college last week, as though she and he were the only 2 people on planet earth, was embarrassed for her.
The man in this video has no shame, I’d have slinked out with my tail between my legs, he just shrugs it off.
LOLZ that guy got pwned
HAHAHA
nice one
i love those musicians! ^^
that was awesome!
holy shit, i think i actually saw that happen
isn’t that covent garden?
LOL Complete and Utter Humiliation.
OMG That was brilliant! Completely deserved it too.
i was there a few weeks ago
Yes that is Covent Garden - I’ve seen that quintet before, they are amazing! Does anyone know if that piece of music is the 1812 Overture?

Oh shut up ‘Damn you’. No one even cares what you wrote. ‘And then A and B and C and many many more reasons!’ - get a life, dickwad.
