The film IS way to obviously faked…I get what they were going for…the only cool thing was the way they did the end scene, was to make it look like the light control on the webcam dimmed, so they could overlay the film of the “boyfriend” in a white t-shirt…common film gimmick…but atleast they did it well..

The short film clearly did not pretend to be a real hacking, it was a fictional clip based on real life events.
You say this is the result of people not being internet savvy, but really it just shows how a third party can manipulate technology for reasons beyond any control of the owner.
