Secondly, there was no way he was going to get that tree to fall away from his house without using wedges. He was trying to take it against its lean, and it had a huge limb overhanging the side opposite his face cut.
One of the only things he did right was take just enough. If he would have waited half a second more to pull out his saw he would have pinched his bar and probably would have ended up with the saw underneath the tree as well as his house.

It only took out the porch area…easy fix.
