this is legit, but the people you’re talking about are a small (albeit very vocal) part of rap/music today. listen to aesop rock, illogic, slug…there are real artists out there.

Just a word of warning to you kids out there. Just know the first time you smoke some dope or what ever, you never plan on being an addict. You think, “I’m just having some fun. It won’t hurt anybody. It’s just one joint every now and then.”
Some are right. They don’t get sucked into a life of harder and harder drugs. They’re able to put it down and let that be that. But I never thought I’d be addicted. The first time I smoked a joint with my bros, I never thought that 10 years later I’d be struggling every day of my life to stay on the wagon. Counting every day of the 13 months that I had managed, by the grace of God to remain clean after 9 years of spiraling drug use from pot to cocaine to crack, to heroin to meth. And it took me losing my best friend. One I had spent 15 years with. Who shared in my good times and bad. I had other friends that ODd. But they were just my drug buddies. The guys I got high with. It took the death of my best friend, in a bathtub with a heroin needle in his arm for me to come to my senses. It took me 3 tries and a suicide attempt before I got it right.
People will try to tell you that pot aint a gateway drug. For some it’s not, but I don’t know of a single one of my strung out friends that didn’t start with it.
Truthfully, I don’t even know why I wrote this, but I felt like sharing today. This man spits the truth. That is what all this shit does to you. It tears your life apart. Take it from another former junkie. You never plan on being an addict. You never think you’ll be the one that gets hooked. Please, don’t make the same mistake.

YOU made those mistakes because YOU made those decisions. It’s not pots fault you took heroin etc. People who blame the drugs they take on the actions they take are simply weak.

All these haters above me, they never have known anyone or seen it ruin anyones life that is close to your heart. Or maybe they did so they put up a front to deal with, its the same idea with movies when men put up fronts so they dont seem scared or shed a tear or two during emotional scenes. How about you let your guard down and take it for what it is, and know that it will probably happen to you or somebody close to your heart within your lifetime. If it doesn’t well then God must have spared you for some other nightmare.
