We’ve always heard that elephants are afraid of mice. But why would a big animal fear such a small one? The guys from Mythbusters are at it again.

Wtf?? HOW DID THEY GET THAT CLOSE?!!?
I saw this episode. They were at some elephant preserve so the elephants were used to humans being around. Otherwise it would be very dangerous.
that’s pretty sweet, i suppose an elephant being scared of a mouse is like some people being scared of small spiders…maybe all elephants have a rodent-phobia
well thinking liter-lateraly….its a bright white coloured mouse…in a mostly brown place….elephants arnt stupid so what would you do if you saw something so out of the ordinary?
Hmm, well I’ll be.
I’m Flabbergasted.
Everyone loves MythBusters
not only mouse… Elephant are also afraid of squirrels…
Maybe the elephants just didn’t want to injure the mouse under its feet?
Wow… CCXVI, you took the word right out of my mouth

If something I took to be a piece of shit randomly rolls over of its own accord I would backstep too.
Hey, some people keep insisting that a random shit rolling over may have scared the elephants. But in the episode they also did a test where they rolled over an empty piece of shit and the elephants didn’t give a damn about that. AFTER that, they put the mice a SECOND time (so it should have been a familiar sight), and the elephant was still freaked!
Frankly, for me startled EQUALS scared. If I jump back because somebody said “boo”, I was scared even if it was for a split-second.
Cheers!
Mice chew on elephants’ toenails. I don’t know about you, but if something wanted to gnaw on my feet, I’d avoid it too!
