These dude’s did a kick ass job. If I were someone who never heard the original version of the song, I would still find this pretty damn good. Some one above me put it best, “…just proves that any thought-out song can be good, it just need proper execution.”

Actually, you will find that most of the pop songs written by people other than the artists themselves can sound very, very good when performed by someone with a bit of musical talent. Why? Because the people hired by the producers to write these songs are classically trained, it is only sad the the best avenue for their talent is writing songs, that despite their best effort, sound like a cow giving birth and dying at the same time when performed by a pop artist.

Oh, fuck you, Greg. I’d love to see you have done this. They were fabulous. The two cellos were only VERY SLIGHTLY mis-tuned, it’s not like they’d slipped out of tune.

I’m not sure if this is them, but I have a lot of music by the String Quartet which plays all pop songs in classical form. They are really really great and do a lot of music very similar to this.
